From fashion to music, Coachella has it all, perfectly encapsulating the pop culture trends from the year. This weekend-long music festival has made its 25th year comeback in Indio, California. The Coachella 2024 headliners were Lana Del Rey, Tyler, the Creator, and Doja Cat, all returning Coachella performers.
Lana Del Rey headlined Friday night, the first day of the festival. It was her first time being back at Coachella since her first performance at the music festival back in 2014.
Tyler the Creator headlined on Saturday night, the second day of the festival. This performance was his third appearance at the festival. Lastly, Doja Cat headlined Saturday, the third and final day on the third and final night, making her second Coachella appearance alongside fellow headliner Lana Del Rey.
Lana Del Rey is an American singer-songwriter. Her music is known for its cinematic quality, glamor and her take on tragic romance. Del Rey is a musical icon. Some of her most popular songs are: “Summertime Sadness,” “Say Yes To Heaven,” and “Young And Beautiful.”
All of these performers are great on their own, but they all decided to bring guest stars on to perform with them. Del Rey brought out Billie Eilish, Jack Antonoff, and Jon Batiste. Tyler the Creator was accompanied by Childish Gambino, A$AP Rocky, Charlie Wilson, and Kali Uchis. Doja Cat also invited A$AP Rocky, as well as Teezo Touchdown, and 21 Savage.

Tyler the Creator has been a very outgoing performer his entire music career. He often involves his audience with his shows and overall seems to enjoy performing. His fans also bring lots of energy to the shows. “Tyler was my favorite out of the three headliners. His entrance was good and his performance had a lot of energy,” said Ledesma.
Antiono McAfee, Taft junior, said, “Though I’ve never been to Coachella, I would really like to go.” He said this was a good year to have been at the festival. “I have listened to all of the headliners’ music and my favorite of all three artists I’ve got to say is Tyler, the Creator, ” said McAfee.
Doja Cat is an American rapper, singer, and songwriter. Doja Cat, despite the controversy, has created quite the fan base with her most popular songs being: “Paint The Town Red,” “Agora Hills,” and “Women.” Katarina Noriega, a Taft junior, said, “ My favorite headliner was Doja Cat, when she performed “Tia Tamera” it was so good, definitely my favorite performance.”
“I also am not a big fan of the song ‘Demons,’ but I think Doja Cat did a really good job at incorporating everyone and I thought the dancing was really good,” said Noriega.
The headliners chosen by Coachella are alway popular Artist with a fan base ready to post and promote Lana Del Ray, Tyler, the Creator and Doja cat are all very famous and extremely well known, but their music does not contradict each other nor does it cause rivalries.
