The Fall Sports Season has come at Taft and one of the most popular is Volleyball! Let’s dive deep into the expectations and feelings of the upcoming Volleyball season coming Sep. 9.
The Girls Volleyball season will start on Sep. 9 against Wheaton Academy and there will be 18 regular season games with them ending against Montini Catholic on Oct. 12.
These games will span over nearly five weeks with our rivalry game at Lane Tech on Sep. 12 being the third game of the season.
Last school year, the Girls Volleyball Team had an overall season of 14-16 with a Conference record of 4-6. According to MaxPreps, the Volleyball Team is looking to do better with a (so far) 18 game season. Half of those games will be in their Conference.
Head Coach Brittney Ware is, “Super Excited, because of the new players, and returning players. She is also, “Excited about the current squad, the returning players have grown a lot with the team.”
The first game that the Volleyball Team has is Wheaton Academy, and they will be at Taft so make sure to show up in Taft gear and show your support of Taft.
“I’m hoping to win,” said senior Sage Mohring, a player on the team. “The team is better than last year, more chemistry, our teammates hang out with each other outside, we’ve gained more talent.”
With these positive attitudes about the upcoming Volleyball season, this team sure looks ready to get a winning season this year. With Coach Ware at the helm they build towards a good year of Volleyball fun.
