Taft welcomes all new staff and incoming freshmen. The Freshman Academy first opened on Tues. Sep 3, 2019. It was a new chapter for Taft and incoming freshmen that year to have their very own freshman campus. That first day of school would not only be different to incoming ninth graders but for Taft’s experience overall.
Now Taft has two different campuses, and staff working at both campuses as well. One freshman student, Aresnii Peleshok, shared his experience being a freshman. He said his experience at Taft is, “Going well.” He shared that he loves playing soccer.
Peleshok continued with, “I will get better at soccer and try to be in the right mindset to play… I love my gym class because it is the only time I can be active in school and be able to play other sports.” This freshman has grown to be a part of Taft and is enjoying his Freshman year and working towards goals.
A new Physics teacher, Bryan Filippelli, has joined Taft and shared his experience of his first year teaching. He shared, “I love teaching because it makes me feel like I have a positive impact on my community.” Filipelli added, “The hardest part of teaching is managing all the responsibilities.” Filippelli acknowledged the hardships of being a teacher and the excitement of being a teacher. He is now part of the staff and part of our community.
