Did you know “Block Blast” was released on Sep. 23, 2022, but it only started being recognized in 2024? Why? Well, it’s a game about placing boxes strategically, and it’s also infinite. So you are constantly trying to think about your next move and how to keep space for the move after. It is a game of intelligence and focus.
I started playing “Block Blast” because it was a very addictive and entertaining game for my mind. I caught myself playing it every time I opened my phone. I know others have the same problem because when I walk around the class sometimes I see at least four-five people playing it.
“Block Blast” can certainly test your mind and it can make you feel more intelligent playing either during, after or both. Millie Seto, a junior, replied, “Both because the game stimulates my brain and it makes me more of a thinker.”
Diego Chavez, a junior, said, “Both because I have to think of spots and being a problem solver.”
This shows how “Block Blast” can bring helpful knowledge without you knowing you’re learning, but is it fun? When asked, Alyssa Kalisz, a junior said, “It is addicting as well as a good way to pass time.”
Annabelle Um, a junior, said, “It is similar to Tetris and it keeps me busy/occupied.”
When asked if they would suggest Block Blast to others, many students said, “Yes.”
I asked students how many stars they would rate the game out of five. “Four stars,” said Kalisz, Seto, and Angel Suliga, a junior.
“Not an everyday game for me,” said Kalisz.
“Too many small updates,” said Suliga.
“Irritates me sometimes because I’m not the best,” said Seto.
The other two, Chavez and Um, said “Five stars.”
“It’s just one of my favorite games, ” said Chavez.
“I am addicted and love it,” said Um.
Overall, “Block Blast” is a very fun game and definitely highly recommended. It can help mental health, it can help problem solving skills, and it can bring you joy from being entertaining and a healthy addiction. “Block Blast” is just a game, but it’s much more as long as you know what you are trying to get out of it.
