In “Marvel,” there are many different groups of characters. Some of the more well known include the X-Men, the Avengers, X-Force, and the New Mutants, each with their own specialties and experiences. Out of all of them, however, there’s one that’s exclusive to four truly fantastic people. Those four were the newest additions to “Marvel Rivals.”
This group is known as the Fantastic Four, which consists of Reed Richards (Mr. Fantastic), Sue Storm (Invisible Woman), Johnny Storm (Human Torch), and Ben Grimm (The Thing). Each of them have their own unique play style, roles, and skins, adding to the already impressive character roster.
Along with the original skins, Reed Richards received a cosmetic from “Ultimate Fantastic Four #1.” It’s based on The Maker, who is a supervillain version of Reed Richards. Sue Storm also received a cosmetic from the comic, “Fantastic Four 280.” Her’s is based on Malice, her supervillain alternate.
Taft junior Bianka Guzman said, “The Sue skin is really good, but that Mr. Fantastic skin is so well made. It’s really basic but so good at the same time, I still think they could’ve added more detail to it.”
But here’s “The Thing,” not only Reed and Sue received cosmetics. Ben Grimm received his famous trench coat and fedora as a cosmetic, finally Johnny Storm received a fire cosmetic from the comic, “Fantastic Four #600.” His is Negative Zone Gladiator, which is based on his appearance in the comic.
Taft senior Soman Fakhri said, “The Human Torch skin is so well made, even if it looks like he dove into a pool of lava. It’s definitely the best skin out of the four skins for the Fantastic Four.”
Along with these four characters comes two new blood boiling maps. One is called Empire Of Eternal Night: Central Park, which is a map inspired by Central Park in Manhattan. The other is Empire Of Eternal Night: Midtown which similarly is a map inspired by Midtown in Manhattan.
Taft junior Cameron Murdock said, “I like the new maps and the time reverse thing for some of the areas on the two maps is really cool, it just gets really annoying at times, especially if you get stuck inside them.”
The two maps also have a new feature that simply adds onto the already existing destruction mechanic. With this feature, buildings change shape and become destructible when dealt enough damage.
With this fantastic season there will be more to come in the next season. Who knows? Maybe the new season could turn up the heat.
