From Sep. 15 to Sep. 17, Taft’s very own Norwood Park held its annual Fall Fest. The Fall Fest was said to hold food, live music, family activities, and more. It was a fun event to enjoy the incoming season and spend time with friends and family.
Entertainment was provided throughout the weekend. This consisted of all genres of music. Laser tag and inflatables were available for older kids. They even had a kid zone for all ages to be inclusive.
Olivia Martin, a 12-year-old attendee, said,“I had so much fun playing laser tag with my friends.”
The activities also consisted of fall themed arts and crafts for all to take part in. On top of that there were also plenty of stands for small businesses and vendors. Norwood took pride in supporting their fellow community members.
“The food was great and the staff was nice and welcoming. I really enjoyed my weekend there,” said Stephanie Shmucker, a local attendee of the event.
The food at the fest served a wide variety of options from sweet treats such as deep fried oreos to savory tacos. They had an adult beverage tent and plenty of options for fun drinks and refreshments.
Nicci Mertens, a volunteer at the fest, worked at the adult beverage stand for the weekend and stated that she, “…had a great time giving back to this wonderful community. I loved seeing all the smiling faces and enjoying the music while helping out.”
Volunteering for the fest is a great way to support the Norwood Park community and also be part of the festivities.
Overall the reviews from the community were great. Think about joining the crowd next year!
