Every year there is always an argument about what the best holiday is. In my opinion the best holiday is Christmas. This is my favorite holiday because I hang out with my family, I open gifts, and just hang out and spend time with my family.
Christmas is not only my favorite holiday but it is the time of the year I get most excited for because of the activities and fun things I do leading up to it. Every year my closest friends and I go on a day trip to Wisconsin and just spend the day skiing, drinking hot chocolate, and having lots of fun.
There are many other holidays that are celebrated by many different Taft students. Some of those holidays being Hanukkah, Halloween, and many have said that their birthday is their favorite holiday but that’s a separate argument.
“My birthday and Halloween are my favorite holidays. I technically don’t celebrate religious holidays so I love the opportunity to celebrate myself and dress up,” said Rhavyn Haynes, Art teacher at Taft .
People may not agree but I think your birthday is and should be a holiday. It’s a day all about you celebrating yourself and doing things with people that make you happy. On your birthday you get to have people sing you a song celebrating the life you’ve lived!
My second favorite holiday is my birthday as well and like I said before your birthday being a holiday is debatable but I feel that it is a fun day to just do whatever makes you happy and hang out with people that care about you and make you happy as well.
“Halloween is my favorite holiday because I like dressing up and Halloween is very nostalgic for me because I also loved dressing up and hanging out with family as a kid,” said sophomore Christopher Oshodi.
In conclusion, Christmas is my all time favorite holiday because there is such a positive vibe to it and I can celebrate with my family and I can also celebrate God’s birthday.
